Unconfirmed! Please read at your own risk!
A new TVB series, said to be 40-episode long and by TVB’s executive producer Leung Ka Shu, might start filming as early as this coming November.
Gallen Lo is expected to join the series “if nothing changes”. He was said to have disclosed the information during his latest interview with a Singapore magazine.
There are speculations as for who the leading lady, or ladies, would be. Recently, Kenix Kwok has expressed her intention to come back to TVB in an interview. Jessica Hsuan was earlier rumored to be part of “A Pillow Case of Mystery II” - the sequel with Bobby Au-yeung, replacing Kenix Kwok.
Both actresses recently mentioned Gallen’s name when being asked whom they would like to cooperate with again. In a fan-gathering event earlier this year, Jessica disclosed that there had been talks about a project involving Gallen. According to Jessica, their schedules did not work out at the time.
If Kenix Kwok returns to TVB for “A Pillow Case of Mystery II”, Jessica’s schedule might be opened up.
Kenix and Gallen worked together in the epic 105-epi drama “At the Threshold of an Era” (TVB 1999-2000), where she played two characters, both romantically linked to Gallen’s. Jessica and Gallen have worked together on numerous projects, most notably “Cold Blood Warm Heart” (TVB 1996) and “Golden Faith” (TVB 2002).

My heart does not know how to handle disappointment well. Yet, it always takes that risk - to believe, to have faith. Despite your warning, I’m crossing my fingers for a Gallenix reunion.

TkN,
Your heart will not be alone!
And, as silly as it might sound, I really need to hug someone right now!
TkN | 22-Jun-08 at 2:56 am | Permalink
People need hugs in various contexts. But seeing your smile, I guess it is to share joy, or rather, a hopeful anticipation.
If you can receive a virtual hug, I’m right here.

REALLY HOPE he does come back. and all those superb actresses that have left tvb. aww miss those mid-1990s , dramas were so much better then. gallen!~
Kimmiemai | 22-Jun-08 at 9:44 pm | Permalink
Keeping my fingers crossed for it to be true. I hope Kenix is his partner as well, but she has to gain some weight first if that’s the case. Wouldn’t it be better if Ada and Gallen together though? lol I heard Raymond and Myolie are rumour to be in it too, which is please no Myolie for me. lol
Mimosa | 22-Jun-08 at 10:14 pm | Permalink
TkN, much thanks for the hug! The icons are really just so cute by themselves. And then, they’re from TkN!!!
F, I hope the news will be soon confirmed. By the way, have we met?
Kimmiemai, the thought has crossed my mind. Now that we might have Ivy, we might as well hope for Ling and Helen! But, assuming all the rumors would be confirmed at some points, I don’t think producer Chik could let producer Leung “borrow” his favorite Ada that easily
Aeris | 24-Jun-08 at 4:30 am | Permalink
I’m hoping to see Jessica and Gallen again. I think Ada will be a bit busy later.
F | 25-Jun-08 at 3:24 am | Permalink
no i dont think we ever did. hah but im a frequent reader. commented once in e past. love gallen lots! (:
Mimosa | 25-Jun-08 at 11:30 pm | Permalink
Aeris,
What if all five of them - Ada, Flora, Jessica, Kenix, and Maggie - make their appearances in this series? After all, it costs nothing to dream!
F, oh no! This is so embarrassing!
I had an impression we’ve “met” (i.e. talked, hehe) somewhere. It just slipped my mind that it was actually right here on GH. Please do pardon me!
I see you are also from Singapore!
Aeris | 26-Jun-08 at 1:09 am | Permalink
Now that is what I call a star-studded cast! While I am still dreaming, can we add Nick Cheung and Bobby Au-Yeung into the mix?
baby | 28-Jun-08 at 2:51 pm | Permalink
Silly, it costs nothing to dream, indeed! Let’s hope he (or we) gets lucky!
Mimosa | 28-Jun-08 at 11:26 pm | Permalink
Aeris and baby: Well, let us dream on, then. Since Aeris invited Nick and Bobby, I’d like to also invite Esther and Margie Tsang. That’s a total of SEVEN ladies! And we have only three men so far… Any recommendation?
Aeris | 29-Jun-08 at 1:17 am | Permalink
Mimosa, you’re also a fan of Margie Tsang? I enjoyed watching her old series, especially The Grand Canal.
Lol, we’ve run out of men, but I suppose that’s not unusual in TVB series. How about Derek Kwok and Louis Koo? *sigh* Why isn’t this a real series?
Kimmiemai | 02-Jul-08 at 11:55 am | Permalink
Hey! Good to hear it’s confirmed. So who really is going to be in this drama?
passby | 02-Jul-08 at 10:12 pm | Permalink
if Flora is also in the drama , that will be great !
Sere | 02-Jul-08 at 10:58 pm | Permalink
Thanks Mimosa!! Do keep us updated.
A Jessica and Gallen reunion would be a dream come true. But I should not get my hopes up too high.
TkN | 03-Jul-08 at 3:18 am | Permalink
I think the chance of Gallen collaborating with Kenix Kwok and Maggie Cheung (if her health permits) is higher than other actresses. Reasons:
Ada - busy filming for ATV (what horrible timing!)
Jessica - busy filming with Bobby
Esther - Since husband Nick Cheung is filming with Ada, I do not think Esther will also act to leave her precious daughter home alone
Or perhaps TVB will continue the trend of pairing Gallen with much younger actresses? They can’t call Myolie up for the job since that’d be redundant. So perhaps Tavia?
Mimosa | 04-Jul-08 at 11:19 am | Permalink
Aeris,
Yes, I knew and started liking Margie since “The Grand Canal” as well. Margie and Gallen made quite a compatible couple in “Battle of the Royal Court”. They paired up once more in “Live for Life”, which is currently on my “to-hunt” list. Any lead would be highly appreciated,
Louis! Oh now we’re really dreaming
Mimosa | 04-Jul-08 at 11:26 am | Permalink
Kimmiemai,
Ada is!
Of course, just wishful thinking on my part! There has not been any more report on the co-stars, but TkN’s assessment is a sound one. She didn’t mention Charmaine’s name, however, under the “younger actresses” category. This two worked together in “Seven Sisters”, and did have chemistry as I could recall.
Mimosa | 04-Jul-08 at 11:34 am | Permalink
passby,
Thanks for stopping by. I guess you’re an avid Flora’s fan, or maybe even a Gallora’s fan? Flora is high on my “wish-list”, but the possibility is really just as low as none.
Mimosa | 04-Jul-08 at 11:34 am | Permalink
Sere,
Sere is back! And Sere left a comment!

Yes, you do have your hope too high. As TkN pointed out above, Jessica is currently busy with “Pillow Case”. She is in fact “double-booked”, if I’m not mistaken, for both “Just Love II” and “Pillow Case”.
But on a positive note, Gallen might stay for more than one series.
Mimosa | 04-Jul-08 at 11:44 am | Permalink
TkN,
I’m sure it is just me, but I really did not feel Gallen had as great of a chemistry with Kenix as he would with other actresses, despite the lengthy 105 ATE episodes they shared together. I still don’t feel anything after re-watching the whole ATE twice. I’m willing to give this pairing a new chance, however. I’m just not so thrilled.
Maggie Cheung - Now that would be wonderful! Tavia would be great as well. I love their chemistry as cousins in both “Golden Faith” and “The W Files”. How her schedule looks like, I wonder.
Sere | 05-Jul-08 at 2:13 am | Permalink
Mimosa…
i’m temporarily back. I have that habit of coming and leaving. I had little knowledge of the TVB world. I had no idea Jessica is fully booked.
I never though Kenix had chemistry with Gallen. Maggie Cheung would be an ideal choice but her directionality in life seems to have changed. She doesn’t seem to be interested in filming series now.
I would’t be surprised if he is paried up with Charmaine Sheh. I can’t really think of who I would like to act alongside Gallen nowadays. No chances of flora or ada.
i guess it doens’t reall matter for me, i just hope that he will have a good script and character to work with.
TkN | 06-Jul-08 at 2:44 am | Permalink
I didn’t mention Charmaine since I don’t consider her a “fadan” yet.
I guess the original five are pretty hard to replace. But now that you’ve mentioned her, I think there’s great possibility. However, Charmaine consistently expressed wanting to film a comedy. 1) I do NOT want Gallen in another comedy and 2) The grand production sounds like a drama to me, especially with its length and producer. Also, there have been rumors that Charmaine might film with Dayo later on.
Tavia is free.

haha its okay! we met on GH
if you dont mind, can add me in msn ! heh and yes, i am from singapore , you too?
TkN | 08-Jul-08 at 10:39 am | Permalink
Who are Jamie Chik and Ray Lui?
Aeris | 10-Jul-08 at 9:00 pm | Permalink
TkN, Jamie Chik is the wife of Michael Miu and a well-known TVB actress of the 80’s. Ray Lui is most famous for his role in the classic The Bund.
I’m glad to see all these veterans filming for TVB again this year.
Mimosa | 20-Aug-08 at 8:30 pm | Permalink
So Anita Yuen, huh! Now I’m trying to think. I believe in “Be My Guest” - the TV series, Anita led while Gallen was a guest star. He played a college professor who went around collecting recycling items :D. The two characters, if I remember correctly, did not interact. This is surely a fresh pairing…
