If you say you’re impressed by a Lo Ka Leung of Cold Blood Warm Heart, or by a Lo Ka Leung of Golden Faith, you’re seeing only one side of the picture… During the seven great voyages to the Western Seas, which Lo Ka Leung will you be seeing? It’s hard to say or define. In “Great Navigation”, he is well-rounded, and is rather a blend of both!
MC: Hi Gallen. Say hi to everyone? G : Hi everybody! Have you all had breakfast this morning? Well (smiled) I haven’t! ^^ MC : In such costume and make-up like what you have today… It must be quite hard on you I guess…

G : Still recognizable, am I? In this kind of look I feel more mature
MC: In “Great Navigation”, your character - Zheng He - seems to differ so much from all other roles you’ve had in Hongkong’s dramas. Your thought?
G : Firstly I must say I’m very happy and honored to be able to participate in a historical production by CCTV. Such opportunity, I understand, is quite rare. Moreover, Zheng He is one great figure of Chinese history. Being able to re-live him… well, the feeling is simply amazing and isn’t anything I’ve experienced before!
MC : It’s a historical drama, I understand…
G : Yes, during the 5000 years of our ancient history, Zheng He was the first and only one who unvealed the myths of the oceans outside our borders, and had the courage to sail far and away to foreign shores… Back then it was a challenging task. He visited a good number of countries and interacted with their cultures, promoting peace… All in all he was a magnificent character!
MC : In “GN”, you cooperated with veteran Tang Guo Qiang again? Isn’t this the second time you two work together?
G : He’s my idol, just so you know. I met him for the first time on the set of “The Exile of Lady Wang”. I came to his filming locations just to watch and learn from the way he acted. We’d acquainted since and he’d treated me very well. Then during the filming of GN we’ve become best friends. He’s very considerate… As you know my role - Zheng - was an eunuch while his was the Emperor… At times I didn’t have much dialogue, yet he often suggested me to do impromptu “You could come up with a line here… there… for this scene and that…” I’ve learnt a great deal of acting skill from him.
